The young attacker was part of the Mizoram-based side's fairy tale campaign during the 2016-17 season.

Jamshedpur FC have strengthened their forward lineup as the Men of Steel have signed Aizawl FC attacker William Lalnunfela on a multi-year deal, Khel Now can confirm.

The forward started his career at Pune FC's U-18 youth setup and then gradually made his mark in the Mizoram Premier League. His consistent performances in the domestic league for Chanmari attracted interest from Aizawl FC in 2015.

The 25-year old gradually grew in stature at Aizawl FC and played a crucial role in their historic I-League quest in the 2016-17 season under the tutelage of Khalid Jamil. Apart from scoring goals, William is known for his blistering pace and ability to play in multiple attacking positions.

His talent stood out and Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan signed him in 2018 and he spent a season in Kolkata. However, in 2019, he came back to Aizawl plied his trade for the Reds in the last I-League season. He featured in 12 matches for the Reds and scored twice and also registered an assist.

He has a lot of experience in Indian football but this will be the first time he will be featuring in the Indian Super League. Considering his versatility and speed, William Lalnunfela can be a great asset for Jamshedpur FC who recently lost one of their vital players in attack in Farukh Choudhary, who will be featuring for Mumbai City FC in the upcoming season.

Apart from the experience in I-League, William has also featured in the AFC Cup and even in the AFC Champions League qualifiers with Aizawl FC. The prior experience of playing at the continental stage will help William Lalnunfela contribute more for the Men of Steel in the coming years.
