Manchester United wonderkid JJ Gabriel has surprised everyone with his decision, as he has shockingly asked the club to let him leave.
The 15-year-old is considered one of the most intriguing prospects in global football, the crown jewel of United’s academy, and is dubbed ‘Kid Messi’ after the Argentine legend.
He is poised to make his senior appearance for United this campaign, perhaps following in the footsteps of Arsenal youngster Max Dowman, who made his first-team debut aged 15 in August of last year.
However, Gabriel has astonished United by requesting that his registration be cancelled and he be allowed to go, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The club feel the situation can be turned around and are yet to approve Gabriel’s request. The player has been with the club since the age of 11, and United can oppose Gabriel’s request to revoke his registration.
Gabriel is not eligible to sign a professional deal until he becomes 17, and scholarship agreements are not authorised until players are 16. He is not currently in the queue to join another club right away.
United insiders feel the problem may still be resolved since, despite the player’s desire, he cannot be de-registered from the squad, and his present contract runs until the end of the season.
JJ Gabriel’s Instagram account looked to have been cleansed of all photographs and Manchester United mentions, raising eyebrows.
Sources close to the player were swift enough to dismiss any talk of dissatisfaction, but it has since been made clear that a tense episode has been unfolding behind the curtains, with Barcelona having spent years trying to recruit him, given that he can leave the UK at the age of 16 thanks to his Irish passport, enabling him to compete in Europe.
Gabriel won’t make debut tomorrow vs Brighton
Gabriel has not yet made an official competitive first-team appearance for Manchester United, though he has featured in unofficial pre-season friendlies. He looked set to make his professional debut in the EFL Cup against Brighton and become Man United’s youngest ever player in history.
But now sources have confirmed that he won’t be included in the matchday squad after he missed training on Tuesday.
