Spain have reached the final of the FIFA World Cup for the second time only.
The stage is almost set for the FIFA World Cup 2026 final between Spain and Argentina. The game will be only the second meeting between the two sides at the World Cup. Their last meeting took place in the group stage of the 1966 World Cup, which England famously won.
La Albiceleste and La Roja have faced each other 14 times in international football, and their records are equal. Both sides have won six matches each, while the remaining two have ended in draws. Nevertheless, one side will take a lead on Sunday at the New York-New Jersey Stadium.
In order to watch the game, all the Spanish players who were a part of the 2010 World Cup-winning Spanish side are reportedly seen at the venue. In the earlier game, David Villa, Carlos Puyol, Fernando Hierro, and a few more players were present.
However, as La Roja have reached the final of the global tournament for only the second time in their history, the whole lineup from the last edition is set to come to see the team play. However, not all players have a linear path towards North America.
Joan Capdevila is urging Donald Trump to help him see the FIFA World Cup 2026 final
Former Spanish defender Joan Capdevila has urged US President Donald Trump to help him after his ESTA was denied. The former Real Madrid defender took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice his issue and seek help.
Joan Capdevila, who was also part of the 2010 FIFA World Cup-winning Spanish squad, was going to see the final on Sunday alongside his kids. In the tweet, he also stated that his former teammates will join him at the New York-New Jersey Stadium to witness the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina.
He also tagged the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, and Sport from the government of Spain, as he wishes for a timely address of the issue.
When and where is the final of the FIFA World Cup 2026 set to be played?
