Jesus has commented on Ronaldo’s letter.

Portugal coach Jorge Jesus has reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent statement on his withdrawal from the national team camp, saying he has read the statement and will discuss about it with the federation.

Ronaldo’s public words came after a breakdown in communication with Jesus during the UEFA Nations League, which caused the striker to leave the Portugal camp prematurely.

Jorge Jesus, Portugal’s manager, told media outside his home late Tuesday evening that he had “not read” Cristiano Ronaldo’s letter.

On Tuesday evening, Jesus said:

“I read the statement and now, like I do every day, I’m going to the Federation headquarters to work, to think about the Portuguese national team. I have nothing more to say”.

Ronaldo, who plays for Al Nassr, expressed his anger with Jesus after being left on the bench in a match against Norway despite warming up and being expected to be substituted.

The option not to bring in Ronaldo was strategic, according to Jesus. But it worsened tensions between the player and coach, who had already worked alongside at Al Nassr.

Cristiano Ronaldo explained his decision to leave the camp:

“Everyone knows the rest. I warmed up from half-time onwards, watched the minutes tick by and wasn’t called on. The manager had broken his word to me. I decided to leave the training camp without waiting for any further broken promises.”

Ronaldo’s remark has alleviated immediate concerns about his future, confirming his determination to defend Portugal despite recent disagreements with the coaching staff.

Will Cristiano Ronaldo return to the national team?

He said he will be available if called up again.

Will Jorge Jesus leave the Portugal team?

It’s unlikely that he will leave the team.
