The photographs were widely circulated on social media, notably Messiâs expression near the end of the altercation.
â[We were] discussing a foul, actually,â Jude Bellingham said. âBut it was nothing bad. Iâm sure everyone will do their thing and make it a big deal. But no, it was nothing really.â
âI thought there was a foul earlier and he said, âWell what about the one on me?â and I was kind of saying, âYouâre strong enough to take it,â you know what I mean?â
âItâs privilege to play against [Messi],â Jude Bellingham said. âThere was nothing against him. Iâm obviously on the losing side which hurts a lot, but itâs a privilege to go against him.â

âItâs a very sad day for us. We played well, we fought a lot, but it couldnât be.â
âItâs so gutting. I wanted to be a part of the England squad that finally done it, finally got it over the line. To be here telling the fans the same things theyâve probably heard for years and years, itâs really gutting.â
â I wish I could say more, give 1 or 2 more wins, but yeah, at the moment my headâs a bit fuzzy with disappointment.â
Iâm sorry.â
