All you need to know about Junior U-17 Women’s National Championship

The competition is being played in Guwahati with 34 teams.
The Junior U-17 Women’s NFC (National Football Championship) for the U-17 age group commenced from June, 18 2022. The competition will extend till July 4. A total of 34 teams will be participating in the competition this year.
Teams are divided into eight groups in which two groups comprise five teams and the remaining six groups have four teams each. The tournament will be played in five venues across Guwahati. Teams will face each other in the group stage to reach the quarter-finals. The winners of the last eight stage will then clash in the semis. The two winners from the semifinals will meet in the final for the trophy.
About The League
The Junior U-17 Women's NFC started way back in 2003. Manipur were crowned as the inaugural champions. The state remains to be the only team that have won the competition more than once - five times. The previous edition which was held in 2019/20 in Cuttack was won by Jharkhand.
Apart from Manipur, the other teams who have won the trophy are Odisha (2006/07), West Bengal (2010/11), Mizoram (2014/15), Chandigarh (2017/18) and Jharkhand (2019/20).
Uttarakhand and Cuttack have hosted the competition the most number of times – three. Meanwhile, Odisha have participated in the most number of finals – six times.

A total of five venues in Guwahati will host the Junior U-17 Women's National Football Championship (NFC). They are:

GROUP C – Telangana, Bihar, Meghalaya, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh.
GROUP D – Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Goa.
GROUP E – Nagaland, Ladakh, Punjab and Kerala.
GROUP F – Tripura, Chandigarh, Odisha, Maharashtra and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
GROUP G – Assam, Haryana, Puducherry and Gujarat.
GROUP H – Jammu & Kashmir, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan.
