Introducing Khel Now's Power Rankings for Indian Super League 2020-21
The rankings aim to identify the most consistent performers in the league over the course of the campaign.
Khel Now is delighted to announce another landmark innovation, known as the ‘Khel Now Power Rankings’ for the seventh edition of the Indian Super League (ISL). The objective of this rankings is to determine the top 10 most consistent players from the ongoing season of the ISL at the end of the campaign. We have devised a method that takes into consideration the entire length of the competition for this purpose.
For every ISL game, our respective correspondents and editors rank their five best performing players from the match in order. The player ranked at the top of the list is awarded five points, whereas the one at the bottom (fifth spot) is given one point.
Such points are carried forward for every player involved in the league, once he's chosen by our team. Eventually, the total number of points that they accumulate will decide their final position in the leaderboard at the end of the season. For example, our rankings for the game between FC Goa Vs Mumbai City FC earlier in the season read:
1. Amrinder Singh: 5 points
2. Adam Le Fondre: 4 points
3. Edu Bedia: 3 points
4. Alberto Noguera: 2 points
5. Seriton Fernandes: 1 point
This is the template set for every match of the ISL season. All players, including foreigners and substitutes, are eligible to be inducted in a game’s rankings. The KN Power Rankings will be published in a series of five articles, as we have divided the league into five equal phases of 22 games each for the same. The rankings for Phase 1 of the league will be revealed exclusively on the Khel Now website on Thursday, 10 December, 2020.
