He said: “He’s a real talent. If he was Brazilian, people would be raving about him and, if he was six inches taller, people would be going mad,” McGuinness told Sky Sports News.
“I suppose that’s our country. People doubt players if they’re short in stature but no-one is doubting Andres Iniesta or David Silva. He’s got the potential to be that type of player and, in England, you just don’t get many players like that.

18:40 David Seaman Warns Arsenal To Start Spending Or Risk Being Left Behind
Wenger has come under heavy criticism this season
Former Arsenal Goalkeeper is urging the club to start spending on buying quality players or come under the threat of being left behind the pack next season.
Arsenal finished the season in 5th place which means that they will not be in the Champions League for the first time in 19 seasons, with the pressure mounting on Arsene Wenger. Seaman has spoken about their distraught season and warned the club to start spending or risk more failure in the future. He spoke to Omnisport and said: "All that concerns me, whatever happens, is I want there to be more money available for the manager.
"I think we are getting left behind a little bit by two or three clubs that are now ahead financially and they are spending money and things need to change at Arsenal.
"They need to look at their wage structure – how can you attract the top players when you're not paying the top money? It is as simple as that.
"They have got to be real with what's being paid to players. If you have a top player who wants to come to London and at Arsenal he is being offered say 100 grand and at another club it's 200 grand, where is he going to go?
"For me, it's as simple as that – we are not attracting big players anymore." Arsenal should listen to their legend and start spending in the summer transfer window.

16:50 Fernando Torres has been informed about his role next season
The former Chelsea and Liverpool striker gave a good account of himself this season, scoring some vital goals
Diego Simeone summoned Fernando Torres to his office at Atlético's sports complex in Majadahonda last Friday. With the season drawing to a close, the Argentine coach was keen to set the record straight with various of Atleti's senior players. As on other occasions, it was a sincere and open conversation between the two who discussed the state of play going into the pre-season. Simeone was straight with the 33-year-old forward; “Fernando, I am counting on you for next season”, Simeone began, before explaining the club's situation regarding the FIFA transfer ban.
El Cholo told Torres that if Atlético's appeal against the ban fails, he will be the first choice in the Rojiblanco attack next season. But if the club is successful, his idea is to bolster the attack with two additional centre-forwards. Ideally, players with whom Torres will have to compete to earn his place. The next step, once Atlético are informed of the decision made by CAS, will be to reach a contractual agreement with Torres. Simeone hopes all of this will unravel all in good time. Torres has made it clear that his intention is to stay on with Atlético, and be part of the squad when the club moves to the new stadium, explaining that as far as he is concerned, reaching an agreement will be very easy.

Bernardo Silva has easily been Monaco's best player on the pitch, and a lot of transfer rumours have been surrounding him
MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly made a bid to sign Monaco star Bernardo Silva, according to reports.
Silva, 22, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks.
French outlet Le 10 Sport claimed last month that Jose Mourinho made the Portugal international a priority transfer target for this summer.
While Canal+ suggested this week that United have moved ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona in the race to sign Silva after holding advanced talks with the player himself.
But France Football claim there has been another twist in the transfer saga with United now making an offer "that cannot be refused" to sign the playmaker.
16:10 AS Monaco midfielder has various high-profile suitors
Fabinho has had a stellar season with the French club, playing a key role in their League victory and journey to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals
Diego Simeone's side cannot sign any players over the next two transfer windows but this does not stop them from plotting their next targets, and the former Real Madrid right-back who can also play in defensive midfield is seen as the direct choice to take over from Tiago.
Alexandre Lacazette could be the perfect No. 9 along with Sandro Ramirez and winger Vitolo to help bolster the attack, but Los Rojiblancos main target will be Fabinho.
Manchester City also rumoured to be in for him but Atletico remain frontrunners in the chase and are helped by the fact both Tiago and Fabinho share the same agent in Jorge Mendes, a man who has a good relationship with Los Colchoneros which could help persuade Monaco to sell despite Fabinho having a contract until 2021.

The 35-year-old scored 15 goals this season and was the only shining light for Sunderland
Jermain Defoe is on the verge of signing for Bournemouth on a free transfer after West Ham ended their interest in the England international.
Defoe, who did not play in Sunderland’s final game of the season against Chelsea, had a clause in his contract that enabled him to leave for nothing after relegation to the Championship
And the 34-year-old has not wasted any time in discussing a move and is thought to have opened talks with the South Coast club immediately after the Black Cats final game.
Despite his age, Defoe will want to match his wages at Sunderland, where he was paid around £70,000 a week. It remains to be seen whether Bournemouth are put off by his demands, although West Ham, who bid £6 million for the striker during the winter transfer window, have not followed up that interest.
15:10 Liverpool was close to signing Kylian Mbappe, but Klopp was 'warned off'
Kylian Mbappe was close to signing for Liverpool football club, but the German coach was warned off
This looks like it’s turning into a very, very costly transfer mistake. Especially considering Monaco have already rejected a word-record £103m bid from Real Madrid for Kylian Mbappe this month.
According to Chris Bascombe in the Telegraph, Liverpool wanted to sign the teenage Frenchman last summer, but Jurgen Klopp was ‘warned off’ and we decided against bringing a striker in. Who warned him off, and for what reason, isn’t stated in his report.

19:25 Ander Herrera insists he needs to achieve more at Old Trafford to given 'special position'
The Player of the Year believes he needs to achieve more to take over the captaincy should Wayne Rooney leave the club
Ander Herrera says he does not yet deserve to be talked about as a future Manchester United captain.
The midfielder was named the club's Player of the year on Thursday night after becoming a key part of Jose Mourinho's team this season. With doubts about the long-term future of current captain Wayne Rooney, Herrera has been talked about as a possible successor.
But, the Spain international, 27, insists he needs to do more before he can be considered for the job.
"I am very thankful when I hear that from the fans but, we say in Spain, they are massive words," Herrera told ESPN FC. "The captains of this club are legends. The current one is Wayne Rooney but also Michael Carrick, Ryan Giggs, Nemanja Vidic.
"It is a list of amazing players and legends of the club. I prefer to keep calm and to keep my mind calm because I feel that I still have to do more for the club.
"I still have to win things for the club to deserve that. So I will keep calm. We also have some experienced players on the team who have been here longer like Chris Smalling, David De Gea, also Juan [Mata] came before me.
19:20 Simeone still considering his future at Vicente Calderon
Simeone has won a La Liga and took the club to the Champions League final in 2014 and 2016
As the Rojiblancos get ready to face Athletic Club in what is sure to be an emotionally-charged occasion, the Argentinian fielded questions at his pre-match press conference.
"The memories of football [at the Calderon] are wonderful," he began.
"I found an acceptance from the people long before I started giving things back to the club and the team.
"The first season was hard and difficult, but I met Jesus Gil, a demanding guy, and we fought, we discussed...and I always liked him because it was a direct and hand-to-hand relationship.
"He told me on the first day that to be at Atletico, I had to give 110%.
"The second season was one of the best in the history of the club, and I started to see Atletico in the best places, sure that we could improve.
"It's clear that both as a footballer and as a coach, the Calderon has been a place that will remain in the history of my life."
Whilst the stadium will pass into Atleti history, there is a worry amongst supporters that Simeone might be heading the same way.
"We have always said that we will finish the season first," he continued.
"I will sit down on Monday to talk with Miguel Angel and Andrea Berta, to see what we can expect in the future.
"All of us will look for the best for the club and for everybody."
Looking back on the season, the coach was melancholy.
"Once again it confirmed what I said all season," he said.
"It was difficult and hard since Milan and injuries that did not allow us to be more competitive, especially those of Tiago and Augustus, then Oblak, Sime, Juanfran ...
"Now, we go into the last day with difficulties that motivate us, before an opponent who is perhaps the worst to face in these conditions.

Ballack hasn't forgiven Lahm about Germany Captaincy Spat
Phillipp Lahm played his final professional Football game yesterday for Bayern Munich, with the World Cup-winning Captain having retired from football after Bayern's final game of the season against Freiburg.
Lahm would get praises and kind words from around the globe, with fans and Football personalities alike stating their love and respect for the defender. But former team-mate Michael Ballack wasn't sympathetic at all for the retiring Lahm and had some really heated words for him.
Ballack states that he got to know Lahm's "other face" after the defender became German captain the 2010 World Cup, after which Ballack would never captain his country again.
Talking to Sport 1 Doppelpass, Ballack revealed the "other side" of Lahm as he said: "I got to know Lahm's other face,"
"I didn't know that a player who takes on the role of captain doesn't have to give it back afterwards. That was a frontal attack.
"I never made the step back to the national team after that incident. I had no chance to do anything against it. The way it took place was absolutely not okay."
17:35 Manchester United Target Nemanja Matic After Giving Up On Eric Dier
Mourinho is keen on reuniting with Matic at Manchester United
Manchester United have set their sights on bringing Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic to Old Trafford in the summer, after giving up hopes of bringing Eric Dier from Tottenham.
The deal could see Jose Mourinho reunite with the player he brought to Chelsea a few years back. Mourinho wants to sign a central midfielder who can compliment Paul Pogba in the center of the park and help get the best out of the Frenchman.
United wanted to initially sign Tottenham's Eric Dier, but the possibility of negotiating with the notorious Daniel Levy made their representatives give up on that deal. They are now intent on bringing in Matic, who could be sold by Antonio Conte for an excess of £40m.
17:05 "I Am Not A Mercenary", Jorge Sampaoli Defends His Decision To Leave Sevilla For Argentina
Sampaoli is expected to be announced as Argentina's manager soon
Jorge Sampaoli was not afraid of justifying his desire to become the manager of Argentina in the summer, with the Sevilla coach leaving the club at the end of the season.
Although Sampaoli hasn't been offered a deal to be Argentina's coach yet, he is expected to be at their helm as soon as next month. Sampaoli is expected to be repalaced by Celta Vigo coach Eduardo Berizzo, who is also expected to leave the Europa-League semifinalists.
Sampaoli was defiant in his post-match conference after Sevilla drubbed Osasuna in a 5-0 win to end their season, as he said: "The way of accepting that I go to Argentina does not depend on me exclusively, it's not up to me,"
"Argentina has to resolve my contract with Sevilla. I cannot generate pressure for someone to hire me. The AFA will have to be bound to my obligations and rights in that contract."
He further slammed the media for villainizing him, as he explained: "I felt no wrong in the field," he said. "If they poked me, the battle was won by those who wanted to have whistles.
"I'm not leaving here for money or as a mercenary; I'm going to the national team of my country."
Sevilla ends their season at an impressive fourth place, meaning that they have qualified to play the Champions League next season. Speaking of their season, Sampaoli said: "We were deluded and we dreamed at some moments to fight the league, something very difficult,"
"That they would take us into consideration to fight with the [teams] above gave us a very strange sensation. The rivals maintained regularity that we did not have in a fateful month.
"We achieved 72 points and I am very proud to have participated in this" to sign off.
