Goa Police Cup winners FC Bardez Goa have strengthened their squad by signing a foreigner. They have struck a deal with 28-year-old Nigerian striker Koko Sakibo. The formalities of the move were completed at the club’s headquarters in Soccor-Porvorim yesterday. The co-owner of FCBG Savio Roy D’Souza who is also AFC C license coach believes that the acquisition will boost the results of the team. He also added, “The anticipation of a foreign player signing is finally over. Kokois a known figure in Indian football. So he knows his place. I feel he will get acclimatized soon.” Sakibo started his career with a Nigerian club before moving to India in 2009, where he played two seasons with Vasco Sports Club. Then he joined another local club Dempo Sports Club, where he helped them to win the I-league in the 2011-12 season scoring seven goals. He was playing for Kolkata club Tollygunge Agragami before coming back to Goa. He was overjoyed after signing for FCBG and expressed hi happiness saying, “I feel like I’m back home to Goa. I am very much happy to be back with my good coach and players.” “All I want to say is that it’s time for FC Bardez fans to cheer more because we are going to score more goals and make them happy,” he concluded.Report by Khel Now Correspondent Ravish Narvekar from Goa .
