The Manchester City manager is widely considered as the man to reform Dutch legend's philosophy on the field.

FC Barcelona on Monday have revealed a statue of club legend Johan Cruyff outside of Camp Nou. Club President Josep Bartomeu was at the event along with the Dutch midfielder's son Jordi Cruyff. Talking about the greatness of Johan and his philosophy, Jordi praised Pep Guardiola who is widely considered as a disciple of the Dutch legend's tactics on the field.

Pep Guardiola was at Barcelona when Johan managed the team. Pep, at may occasions, has conveyed that it is Johan who taught him how to play effective total football and it is his philosophy that he implements in his teams.

Talking about Guardiola, Jordi said, "When you are capable of putting your stamp on three different clubs in three different top-level football countries, then you have it. Pep has it."

"He has the drive, the passion, the ideas. He's probably a crazy workaholic. Football never stands still, so you always need to find the next step and you need to be creative to find new things all the time."

"In his case, it's always trying to find a way to be one step ahead. To create something takes a lot of hours of training," he told BBC.
