Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere
1. Game-changing sub for Leeds United
Daniel Farke came up with a double change in the 77th minute and it quite literally worked well for them. The 26-year-old Noah Okafor came in from the bench and in the next minute he helped Leeds United take the one-goal advantage. The substitution of the Swiss player played an important role for the hosts as it helped them secure three crucial points.
2. Tottenham’s lack of urgency in final third
Tottenham Hotspur surely held possession of the ball for the majority of the minutes, but when it came to performing well on the attacking front, they surely lacked the finishing touch. Roberto De Zerbi’s men were only able to take 5 shots, and only 3 of them hit the target, but none of them went in. This has been a major problem for them since the beginning of the season.
3. Elland Road an unbeaten fortress for Farke’s men
Leeds United have now, yet again, continued their unbeaten run at Elland Road. They haven’t suffered a single defeat at their home ground in the Premier League this season and will only be looking to extend their positive run of form. Daniel Farke’s men might have struggled for the wins out there, but remaining undefeated at home has not been an easy task for them.
4. Spurs’ winning streak comes to an end
Led by Roberto De Zerbi, Tottenham Hotspur entered Elland Road on a three-match winning streak. They are now going back with a 0-1 loss at the hands of Leeds United. Under pressure, the Spurs quite literally failed on the attacking front. They will need a strong strategy to get back to winning ways now.
5. Missed opportunities nearly cost Leeds
Before Okafor’s late strike, Leeds created several clear-cut chances, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s header cleared off the line by Dominic Solanke and Ao Tanaka firing over from close range. Despite multiple poor attempts in the final third, Noah Okafor came up with a winning striker for the hosts in the 78th minute.
