Lens are scheduled to face Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the Trophée des Champions 2026 final at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Lens on Sunday, August 16. This match, featuring the Ligue 1 and Coupe de France champions, marks the curtain-raiser of the 2026-27 French football season.
PSG continued their dominance of French football with a fifth successive Ligue 1 title. They also clinched back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles. Luis Enrique’s men have already added one trophy to their cabinet at the start of the new season, beating Aston Villa to lift the UEFA Super Cup title.
The Parisian side are also the reigning Trophée des Champions holders, having won the last four editions. They are also the most successful team in the competition, having won it a record 14 times.
Lens, meanwhile, are coming off a wonderful domestic season in which they finished second in Ligue 1. They also clinched the Coupe de France title, beating OGC Nice 3-1. Under new head coach Dino Toppmoller, Lens will play their second-ever Trophée final, having lost their only previous appearance, against PSG in 1998.
