Earlier this month, the striker handed in a transfer request to the club.
Paris Saint Germain head coach Thomas Tuchel has expressed his concern on the prospect of losing Edinson Cavani as the striker handed a transfer request to Leonardo, club's sporting director. The all-time highest goalscorer of the Paris based club has played 14 games so far this season with scoring five goals and assisting one. Edinson Cavani has scored 198 goals in all competitions since joining PSG in 2013. His season has been plagued by injuries and the arrival of Mauro Icardi pushed the Uruguayan to the bench. But Thomas Tuchel insists that they do not want to lose any player at this time. [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Speaking to Ligue 1 about Edinson Cavani, Thomas Tuchel said, "I like this squad, I like every player. We don't want to lose a player. But it can happen, that's the reality. Leonardo told you everything. Edi is our player today, and I'm glad it's like that." "If things change, we'll have to adapt. It's not an easy situation for him, I can understand that. I'm very happy that he is staying positive and professional. If someone gets injured, we have a great replacement." Currently, Cavani is recovering from a groin injury which he suffered on 13th January. "He'll have to fight for his place and find his rhythm. He's injured, a little too much, but it's not his fault and it's not ours either. He has to do individual training and it's a very complex situation." It is unlikely that Cavani will choose to stay as Mauro Icardi has developed an excellent link with the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel di Maria. As per reports, clubs like Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are keeping a tap on the situation.Where passion meets insight — blending breaking news, in-depth strategic analysis, viral moments, and jaw-dropping plays into powerful sports content designed to entertain, inform, and keep you connected to your favorite teams and athletes.
