While leading Argentina’s national football team against England in the semi-finals, he accomplished this historic milestone. Even at the age of 39, he continued to be their influential player on the pitch and has now set a new record by becoming the outfield player to feature in a FIFA World Cup semi-final at 39 years and 21 days old.
