Messi has retired from the national team.

Lionel Messi played his farewell game for Argentina, with the 39-year-old finishing his international career on Tuesday in a friendly match against Benin in Buenos Aires.

The attacker led Argentina to a 3-0 win in his farewell match, and it was undoubtedly an emotional evening for one of the best players in history. Messi won one FIFA World Cup and two Copa Americas with La Albiceleste, scoring 126 goals in 208 games.

Lionel Messi’s free kick against Paraguay in September 2012 is ranked 10th on this list, beating a lot of other fantastic goals. It was a fantastic long-range free-kick from over 30 yards out that curved away from goalkeeper Justo Villar and into the back of the net via the inside of the post.
