La Albiceleste will be competing in their successive semifinals at the mega competition.

Lionel Scaloni is the head coach of the Argentina national football team. He has been doing a good job with his tactics for the team. The 48-year-old led Argentina to their third FIFA World Cup title after their triumph in 2022.

After their top-of-the-line performances in the group stage, La Albiceleste made their way into the knockout stage of the flagship tournament this year. They only conceded one goal during their group stage run.

Lionel Scaloni’s men then had strong battles against Cabo Verde, Egypt and Switzerland till now. They have secured wins in all of these knockout games and are now in the FIFA World Cup 2026 semifinals. The Argentina national football team is all set to have a face-off against Thomas Tuchel’s England.

Till now, La Albiceleste have come up with formations like 4-4-2 or 4-1-3-2 during their ongoing campaign in the mega competition. Scaloni is now considering switching things up against the Three Lions.

Argentina’s 48-year-old manager is reportedly considering a switch to the 3-5-2 formation against England in the FIFA World Cup 2026 semifinal.

This formation will give the Argentina national football team more room to establish control against the Three Lions. A 4-2-3-1 formation could also be under Saloni’s consideration. With two defensive midfielders, they will be able to establish better control in the midfield.

In the 3-5-2 setup, Lautaro Martinez or Julian Alvarez can be the primary striker and Lionel Messi will act as the second striker. Thiago Almada can be on the left flank and Rodrigo De Paul on the right. Alexis Mac Allister, Enzo Fernandez and Leandro Paredes can work as the primary midfield options.

Cristian Romero, Lisandro Martinez and Nahuel Molina are going to be the first-choice backline for Lionel Scaloni. Emiliano Martinez will be set to be the main man between the sticks.
