Jesús Valenzuela will be the main referee for the game.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 has reached its final stages, with only a limited number of fixtures remaining for the grandest stage in world football. In the penultimate fixture of the tournament, France set for a heavyweight clash with England at the Miami Stadium in Florida, USA.

France will arrive for the encounter after a disappointing outing, after their hopes of reaching a third successive World Cup final were restricted by Spain, losing 2-0. Led by star man Kylian Mbappé, Les Bleus had a brilliant group stage campaign, advancing as group leaders with a perfect record before navigating past Sweden, Paraguay, and Morocco in the knockout stages.

England will aim to recover from their own semi-final loss, where Thomas Tuchel’s side suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Argentina, despite initially leading the game. The Three Lions had a stellar tournament run, topping their group. They then defeated DR Congo, Mexico and Norway on their path to the semi-final.

France and England clash in one of the biggest and oldest rivalries in football, referred to as the “Channel Derby”. This will mark their fourth meeting at the World Cup, with their most recent encounter coming in the 2022 quarter-finals, with France securing a 2-1 victory.
