The Red Devils have made their worst league start in 40 years.
Manchester United’s injury situation has worsened as Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw missed open training ahead of their Champions League match against Atletico Madrid.
Later in the day, Carrick and his coaching staff will decide whether to fly to the Spanish city for a crucial meeting against Atletico Madrid.
The absence of both has hampered preparations for the crucial Champions League encounter. Shaw also previously missed Manchester United’s league phase win over Sabah last month due to injury.
Mainoo played the entire 90 minutes against Spurs, and there was no sign that he had been injured. His absence has prompted questions about whether he will be available for the journey to the Spanish capital.

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick is set to deliver an update on both players during his pre-match news conference this evening.
The Red Devils will be hoping to have both players available as they attempt to get their season back on track against Atletico.
The anxiety over Shaw is exacerbated by the fact that United are already missing left-back alternative Dorgu, who was hurt while playing for Denmark during the international break.
Noussair Mazraoui, another left back option, is also out and missed Monday’s training session, presenting Carrick and his staff with a conundrum if Shaw is unable to play.
Mainoo was forced to withdraw from England duties during the previous international break due to injury and workload management, and United are wary of overworking their precious young midfielder.
Manchester United’s training group this morning:
Lammens, Heaton, Mee.
Maguire, De Ligt, Amass, Armer, Dalot, Martínez, Yoro, Heaven.
Mount, J. Fletcher, Tielemans, Baleba, Santos, Fernandes.
Lacey, Zirkzee, Mbeumo, Rashford, Cunha, Amad.
Which injury have Shaw and Mainoo suffered?
It has not been revealed, as both have missed training.
When will Man United play Atletico Madrid?
They will face Atletico on 14th Oct at 12:30 am IST.
