Mainz 05 are going to lock horns with Bayern Munich in the matchweek 9 contest of the Bundesliga 2026-27 campaign. The MEWA ARENA is all set to witness this entertaining outing.
Mainz 05 are currently struggling at the moment. They have been knocked out of the DFB Pokal and are now on a three-match losing streak. The Urs Fischer-led side are all set for a tough outing in their next league game.
With three wins in eight games, they are in ninth place on the points table. Die Nullfünfer are going to be at home for their upcoming outing and must use it to their advantage. Also, they must not allow their opponents to have many chances.
Bayern Munich are still undefeated in the ongoing campaign of the Bundesliga. They were held to a 2-2 draw by Borussia Dortmund in their recent league outing. They then went on to secure a 2-0 victory against Atlético Madrid in the Champions League.
Vincent Kompany’s men are still in the top spot with five wins in their first eight German top-division matches. The Bavarians will be looking to extend their positive run of form. Despite being away from home, they will be full of confidence.
Players to Watch
Benedict Hollerbach (Mainz)
Benedict Hollerbach is all set to play a crucial role in the attacking front for Mainz 05. He was the sole goalscorer for his side in their 1-4 loss against Elversberg. The 25-year-old will be, once again, looking to step up his game so that he can help his side stand a chance against the Bavarians.
Michael Olise (Bayern Munich)
Despite failing to score a goal against Atlético Madrid in the Champions League, he was one of the most consistent players for Bayern Munich on the attacking front. Michael Olise completed the most dribbles (4) and created the joint-most chances (3). The 24-year-old can create plays and is more than capable of scoring goals.
He is going to cause serious trouble for the opponent’s defence.
