The Red Devils have been given a positive injury update.
Patrick Dorgu’s return to squad training on Monday gave Manchester United a boost ahead of their UEFA Champions League 2026-27 fixture against AS Roma on Tuesday, November 3.
The dynamic winger has been sidelined due to a hamstring injury he sustained while playing for Denmark against Wales in the UEFA Nations League during the September international break.
Michael Carrick’s team has suffered from the Dane’s absence and Luke Shaw’s injury, leaving their manager without a reliable senior left-back against the Giallorossi.

Although Dorgu, who joined the team from Lecce back in January 2025, has occasionally filled in for Luke Shaw in the left-back position this season, Carrick has mostly used him as a more experienced winger.
However, Shaw and fellow England international Marcus Rashford were absent from training on the eve of Manchester United’s crucial Champions League encounter against Roma. The duo missed training once more after skipping it on Monday morning.
The Red Devils, meanwhile, are hoping to snap a nine-game losing streak that dates back to the end of August, when they beat Ipswich Town 5-2 at Old Trafford in their sole Premier League triumph of the season. His return will be a welcome boost.
After losing to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, they are currently ranked 17th in the English top division. Xabi Alonso’s team won three points thanks to goals from Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer, while Lisandro Martinez was sent off for two bookable infractions.
Carrick has been under increasing pressure as Manchester United‘s run of games without a victory has continued. The under-fire head coach made it a point to apologise to fans after Como’s Champions League thrashing two weeks ago, raising his hands in recognition of the travelling support in Italy.
