The Red Devils will play in the UCL this season.
Manchester United will have to make a significant alteration to their third uniform when they return to the UEFA Champions League this campaign. With United placing third in the Premier League in 2025-26, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has no other option but to offer Michael Carrick, the current coach and former midfielder – one of the most valued players in English top-flight history – a permanent deal.
Now that the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era appears to be on a steady upward trend, the club will be keen to continue the good times. But in certain games, they will have to switch up their cream “three-pronged” third kit.

The retro-looking crest and concentrated Snapdragon logo are the most notable aspects of Manchester United’s third shirt; fans have praised its distinctive design.
The ‘Snapdragon’ wordmark will be there on shirts for any Champions League games, according to UEFA regulations. The shirt will be worn in domestic play this season, presumably including the season opener away at Hull City.
This is because all registered match uniforms (home, away, and third) must have the same primary front-of-shirt sponsor logo, according to stringent UEFA Equipment Regulations.
Due to UEFA’s insistence that all Champions League shirts be uniform, United’s third uniform must remain the same both at home and away.
Since the start of the 2024–2025 season, Snapdragon has been the club’s main sponsor. In 2023, the massive sportswear company Adidas agreed to a ten-year contract worth an incredible £900 million with United.
On Saturday, Michael Carrick’s team will travel to face recently promoted Hull City to begin their Premier League campaign.
What changes will Manchester United have to make in their third kit for UCL games?
They will have to keep the word ‘Snapdragon’ on their third kit, which has its logo, in UEFA Champions League games.
Is Snapdragon a Manchester United sponsor?
Yes, it’s their sponsor.
