Manchester United defeated competition newcomers Sabah FK 4-0 at Old Trafford to start their 2026–27 UEFA Champions League campaign. In the 27th minute, Matheus Cunha scored the first goal with a precise finish. In the 42nd minute, Bruno Fernandes extended the lead.

Just before halftime, Benjamin Šeško scored a third goal to give United complete control at 3-0. Lisandro Martínez secured the 4-0 score with a goal in the 68th minute to top off the outstanding performance.
