The summer signings have been named in the Red Devils’ squad.
Manchester United have announced a 23-player squad for the Premier League 2026-27 season, following the conclusion of the summer transfer window on Tuesday. Although clubs are eligible to register up to 25 players for the league, the Red Devils have named only 23 players, leaving two places vacant.
United were extremely active in the summer transfer window, mainly focusing on rebuilding their midfield. The new signings, including Carlos Baleba, Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and Karl Darlow, have all been named in the Premier League squad.
Michael Carrick has named four goalkeepers in the squad, with the spots going to Senne Lammens, Karl Darlow, Tom Heaton, and Dermot Mee. Darlow arrived in the summer on a free transfer from Leeds United.
Seven defenders were named in the squad, including former captain Harry Maguire. Manuel Ugarte, who suffered a serious knee injury during the FIFA World Cup, is one of the six midfielders named, along with Baleba, Tielemans, and Santos.
Marcus Rashford has been named among the six attackers in the squad. This also includes Joshua Zirkzee, who was heavily linked with an exit in the summer but opted to remain at Old Trafford.

It is important to understand that players born on or after January 1, 2005, do not need to be named in the 25-player squad to feature in the Premier League.
Established first-team players such as Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro are classified as U-21 players and do not need to occupy a senior squad place. As a result, their names were not included in Manchester United’s 25-player squad list.
Cristian Orozco, who was signed in the summer from Colombian side Fortaleza FC, is also eligible to play in the Premier League as a U-21 player.
Another notable omission from the squad is the highly-rated prospect, JJ Gabriel. Despite being just 15 years old, the academy product has attracted significant attention and has been tipped to make his senior debut this season.
Even though he is not named in the squad, which only includes scholars and professionals, Gabriel remains eligible to play in the league despite his age.
