The Red Devils will face Atletico in their pre-season game.

Manchester United’s pre-season preparations are poised to take a step up this weekend. They face a true elite European side, Atletico Madrid. Michael Carrick’s team for the trip has been confirmed.

After more than a week off, Manchester United return to play this weekend against a very talented Atletico Madrid team at the Strawberry Arena in Stockholm.

This comes after Manchester United defeated Rosenborg 5-0 in Norway last week. That game was won courtesy of outstanding youth players like Harry Amass, Jacob Devaney, and Shea Lacey.

Manchester United fell to Wrexham in the first preseason game, but things have definitely gotten better since then. Now, we anticipate Carrick to provide his greatest output yet against Atletico.

The club is at the stage of pre-season where those who participated in the World Cup are beginning to return. Amad Diallo is one guy who will make his full return versus Atletico.

Amad had a fantastic World Cup personally. He will be hoping to carry that into United and make 2026-27 his best season in red so far. It follows a dismal campaign last term in which he scored only twice.

Altay Bayindir, Youri Tielemans, and Senne Lammens accompanied Amad in training. All three are excellent additions to Carrick’s team. However, the latter two just returned to practice on Thursday.
