In the Northern powerhouse that birthed the modern working world, the Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester, United Kingdom, gears up to host Matchweek 10 of the Premier League. Home team Manchester United and Aston Villa lock horns in what is set to be a thrilling clash.

The Red Devils are languishing near the relegation zone after clinching just one win in nine games so far. They have won just one game in their last five matches. They are coming off defeats to Chelsea, Bournemouth and Como recently.

They are outside the relegation zone on the basis of just the goal difference. Scoring goals has not been easy for Carrick’s side as they failed to score in four of their nine matches. They have won their last five home meetings with Villa, and they will be keen to replicate their brilliant run.

Aston Villa find themselves mid-table in tenth spot with 12 points in nine games. After wins over Viking and Man City, they are winless in their last three games and are coming off defeats to Barcelona and Bournemouth recently.

They are unbeaten so far in their last five Premier League games. Their track record at Old Trafford is a bit concerning. Unai Emery will be keen to change the statistics in the upcoming game.

Players to Watch

Matheus Cunha (Manchester United)

Cunha brought Old Trafford to its feet after scoring two late goals in quick succession against Roma before being sent off. In nine games, the Brazilian striker has scored a goal and has given two assists.

His last and only Premier League goal came against Spurs in a 1-1 draw. Michael Carrick’s side are in dire need of a win to save their season before it’s too late to compete for a continental spot. Villa often play with one of the most aggressive offside traps. Cunha will be tasked with dragging central defenders out of position.

Johan Manzambi (Aston Villa)

The Swiss midfielder has been in red-hot form for the Birmingham outfit. In six games, he has five goal contributions, including two goals and three assists. He gave an assist to Nicolas Jackson in the last Premier League fixture against Fulham.

Manchester United’s double pivot often gets pulled out of position when tracking wide overloads. Manzambi’s runs through the centre can open the gaps between United’s midfield and centre-backs.
