Shillong Lajong face Rangdajied United in Meghalaya State League final

The match will take place at the Teiland Phawa Stadium in Khliehrat on Saturday.

It’s an all “Shillong Derby” Finale of the Meghalaya State League 2019 as Shillong Lajong face Rangdajied United on 21st December, Saturday at the Teilang Phawa Stadium, Khliehriat at 12:30PM.

The champions of Shillong, Lajong were placed in Group A and defeated Umkaber by 8-1, Lawbah also by 8-1, drew 0-0 against Lumniwar, won against Royal FC by 4-0 and Umrit by 6-0 in the last group A game. They ended the group stage at the top of the table with 13 points.

The Lajong Youngsters met Druma Sandruma in the semifinals and won this round with a stunning 21-2 aggregate and deservedly sailed through to the finals of the tournament.

Thus far, Shillong Lajong has netted an incredible 47 goals and conceded 4 from a total of 7 games.

Meanwhile, Rangdajied United was placed in Group C and defeated Mawkohphed by 3-1, Bynther by 1-0, Khliehmawlieh by 1-0 and Nongdaju by 10-0.

After topping the Group C, they played the semifinals against Sutnga and won with a 6-1 aggregate to book a place for themselves in the finals of MSL.

Shillong Lajong skipper, Kenstar Kharshong said, "It will be a tough game against Rangdajied United as they are a very good side but we are ready and will give our best. We have prepared well for the finals and I believe that all the boys are fully determined to get three points and win the finals."
