Mexico vs England Kick-off time in India, USA, UK, Australia & more for FIFA World Cup 2026

Mexico and England last faced each other in 2010 in a friendly.

Co-hosts Mexico have been on a roll at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as they are one of only three teams in the summer competition to have won all four of their games. Keen on reaching the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup for the third time in their history, Mexico will face England in the round of 16. The game will be played at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

Interestingly, El Tri have reached the last eight of the FIFA World Cup on two occasions, and they were the hosts at both times. Thus, as per history, the co-hosts have a chance to defeat Thomas Tuchel’s England, who have been seen as one of the top favourites for the title.

Mexico started their FIFA World Cup campaign with a dominant 2-0 win over South Africa. In the next game, they secured a 1-0 win over South Korea in dramatic fashion, scoring on a defensive error by the Korean goalkeeper. They later defeated Czechia 3-0 on Matchday 3.

Javier Aguirre’s men kept a flawless record in the three group stages, scoring six goals and keeping three clean sheets. They continued their stellar performance in the round of 32, winning 2-0 against a highly defensive Ecuador.

On the other hand, Thomas Tuchel’s men secured a 4-2 win over Croatia in the first match. The German tactician wasn’t very happy with his side as they conceded twice. Against Ghana, the Three Lions played out a disappointing 0-0 draw before finishing their group stage campaign with a 2-0 triumph over Panama.

In the knockout stage, the DR Congo took an early lead over Tuchel’s side; however, Harry Kane’s second-half brace helped the Three Lions bounce back and secure a spot in the pre-quarterfinals.
