Rashford has begun training with the club for next season.
Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has underlined that Marcus Rashford is ‘our player’, with the attacker a key element of the club’s plans for the upcoming season.
Marcus Rashford’s time in Manchester looked to be coming to an end when he joined Barcelona on loan last summer, with the possibility of a permanent move worth £26 million.
The Spanish powerhouses, nonetheless, did not exercise their option to sign the forward, instead signing Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.
Marcus Rashford is frequently linked with transfers beyond the Premier League, but has returned to Old Trafford with his teammates ahead of United’s Premier League opener against Hull City on Saturday, August 22.
The England international joined the team in Dublin for the pre-season ahead of the match against Leeds United at Croke Park on Wednesday evening, with Carrick’s side winning on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
Marcus Rashford was not included in the lineup, with his boss stating ahead of kick-off that he, Kobbie Mainoo, and Lisandro Martinez were ‘not quite ready yet’, with the trio due to play in the final practice game against AC Milan on Saturday.
Carrick counting on Marcus Rashford for upcoming season

While United have been willing to sell Rashford, a dearth of genuine suitors means that a deal is now doubtful. Carrick, who played with the forward for two years before retiring, now sees him as part of his plans.
“He’s our player, you know, and he’s come back great. He’s just like any other player.” Carrick told ITV1.
“I’ve known Marcus a long time and, you know, he gives us something a little bit different. And he’s been in great spirits since he’s been back.”
“He’s been back two or three days training and it’s just pretty normal, to be honest. And we’re looking forward to the start of the season.”
Will Marcus Rashford play for United next season?
Yes, Carrick has confirmed that he is counting on him for the new season.
When is Manchester United’s first Premier League game?
It’s on 22d August against Hull City.
