Michael Carrick’s time at Manchester United is now seemingly becoming doubtful after the start of the new season. What was promised to be a title-challenging season has completely turned into a disaster as United once again find themselves at the bottom of the pit.
Michael Carrick was trusted with a permanent job after helping United finish third in the table, and plenty of trust was placed on him to translate the previous season’s heroics into the new campaign.
However, it has once again been a similar story as Carrick finds himself in a position where he only sees an exit from the club after winning only two games in all competitions this term.
What has been the problem at United this season?
Michael Carrick was, in his own words, left “angry” by the 4-1 beating in Como. It also created rifts in the camp, with club captain Bruno Fernandes blasting the tactical scheme.
United have made their worst ever start to a Premier League season, and that European humiliation means they are now seven games without a win in all competitions.
United spent £163m – less than promoted duo Hull City and Ipswich Town and seven other Premier League teams. Midfield was addressed, but left-back and centre-forward areas were not boosted, which has affected their performance in all competitions.
Why did Carrick miss the 7:30 am training?
It has not been confirmed yet.
Where do Man United stand in the league table?
They are 13th in the Premier League table.
