Michael Carrick reveals Benjamin Sesko injury news after 1-1 draw vs Fulham in Premier League

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has voiced serious concerns over Benjamin Sesko’s fitness after the striker was unavailable for the Premier League match against Fulham. The Slovenian attacker is dealing with a persistent shin injury that has hampered his start at Old Trafford.
Benjamin Sesko was notably absent as Manchester United headed to Craven Cottage to face Fulham on Sunday. The Slovenian attacker was dropped out of the matchday squad due to discomfort after starting in Wednesday’s 3-2 Carabao Cup defeat to Brighton.
The most recent concern is a return of the same shin injury that had previously sidelined the 23-year-old for more than two months. That original injury held him out of the final three games of last season, as well as the rest of United’s preseason schedule.

Speaking after the Fulham encounter, Carrick said the team is still assessing the striker’s health. The United manager could not provide a specific timetable for his return to action.
“We’re not sure with Ben yet,” Carrick stated.
“He felt a bit of pain after the game [against Brighton] so we’re assessing him. At the moment, he definitely wasn’t ready for [Fulham], so I haven’t really got any more news to give you at this point. We’ll have to see what that brings.”
Benjamin Sesko’s absence adds to United’s dismal start to the Premier League season, which has seen them win only one of their first five games after drawing with Fulham. The attacker has made six appearances in all competitions this season, starting as a substitute against Hull on the first weekend.
However, additional fitness difficulties exist throughout the team. Matthijs de Ligt travelled to London but was deemed unfit for the match, and winger Amad Diallo is yet to play this season.
