Mikel Oyarzabal has been one of the main men on the attacking front for the Spain national football team for quite some time now. His performances in the 2024 UEFA Euro were quite noticeable and played a crucial role in helping La Roja clinch the silverware.

He started his footballing career after joining the youth academy for Real Sociedad in 2011. With his performances on the field, Oyarzabal represented every youth level for Spain before making his senior debut in 2016.

He suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that ruled him out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and also sidelined him for several months. Mikel Oyarzabal made a strong comeback. He became the captain for Real Sociedad and is now a first-choice striker for the Spain national football team.

The 2026 edition of the FIFA World Cup is now in the knockout stages. Spain are one of the favourites to win the flagship tournament along with the likes of France and England.

Goal 1: Spain 4-0 Saudi Arabia

Mikel Oyarzabal scored his first-ever goal at the FIFA World Cup against Saudi Arabia. He doubled the lead for La Roja in the 21st minute after Lamine Yamal opened the scoring early in the game. It was an important goal for the 29-year-old.

Goal 2: Spain 4-0 Saudi Arabia

Just three minutes later, Mikel Oyarzabal completed his brace for the Spain national football team. His second goal helped Luis de la Fuente’s men gain full control during the fixture. The 29-year-old eventually helped Spain their first victory at the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Goal 3: Spain 3-0 Austria

The Spaniards were battling hard against a stubborn Austrian defence. Mikel Oyarzabal stepped up his game and fired the ball at the back of the net during the 36th minute. He scored the opening goal for the Spain national football team, helping them establish more control of the game. With this, he now has three goals in the FIFA World Cup.

Goal 4: Spain 3-0 Austria

Mikel Oyarzabal once again completed his brace and helped La Roja with an easy victory. Because of his goals, the Spain national football team secured a spot in the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup.
