The I-league champions defeat Mizoram Police FC 6-1 as Rochharzela scores a hat-trick.

Both teams have not yet registered wins till Thursday and were sitting at the bottom end of the table at the start of the match. Mizoram Police FC sit bottom with just a point from four matches while Aizawl FC sit just above them with three from the same amount of games.

And it was Aizawl FC who started more brightly in neat exchanges early on. They quickly got their goal in the 9th minute when talented Rochharzela struck after some brilliant work from David Lalrinmuana and Jonathan Lalrawngbawla.

Aizawl FC kept on pushing with Rochharzela in the thick of things, missing a glorious chance before Jonathan failed to convert his brilliant cross.

MPFC had a chance to pull level but Biaktea dragged his shot wide while Valpuia and Sangber could not capitalise on their openings.

The I-League champions then scored two in two minutes as Rochharzela grabbed his second of the match right after Hmingthanmawia's strike. And they could have more had it not been for some wayward finishing.

Rochharzela then grabbed his hat-trick in the 63rd minute when he latched onto a loose ball after Police goalkeeper Tanpuia failed to calmly collect the ball in his box.

MPFC took advantage when Aizawl FC relaxed a bit and tested Avilash Paul twice before finally grabbing a goal. Fakawma's cross was put in the back of his own net by Aizawl FC defender Kareem in the 78th minute.

But Aizawl FC were not yet done late on with S. Malsawmtluanga missing a one-on-one before substitute Lalmuankima's delivery was headed in by Alfred Jaryan in the 80th minute.

MK-a was at it again in the 88th minute, winning a penalty which Jonathan Lalrawngbawla converted to make it six.

Hattrick hero Rochharzela was named the man of the match for his majestic performance in attack.

Dinthar FC took the lead near the end of the first half through a header from Lalnunpuia after a fine delivery from Ramtea.

They could have taken the lead earlier if not for some wayward shooting from their frontline.

Chanmari West FC were also guilty of profligacy in the first half as they missed several good opportunities to find the back of the net.

And the erratic finishing continued in the second half as Chamnari FC struggled to find an equaliser while their opponents themselves were guilty of failing to finish off their opponents.

Dinthar FC were given a golden chance to ensure three points when forward Jackson earned a penalty. But the effort of Malsawma Chhangte was safely parried by the goalkeeper.

And in the end, it was Chanmari West FC who found reward for perseverance when Lalthlamuana managed to put the ball into the back of the net after a scramble inside the box.
