Newbies Chhinga Veng trounce Mizoram Police in MPL Round 1

I-League champions Aizawl also drew their opening game.

New team Chhinga Veng FC humiliated Mizoram Police FC by 5-2 in the last game of Round One in Mizoram Premier League 6.

Former Chennai City FC striker Malsawmfela scored two goals for Chhinga Veng, Ladampuia and R. Malsawmtluanga also contribute one goal each.

The recently champions of I-Day Tournament and Super Cup, Chhinga Veng dominated the whole game but Mizoram Police opened the scoreline after F. Lalrinpuia (Valpui) netted Zosangliana's assist in the 21 mintutes.

Chhinga Veng began to dominate the game instead they're down by one goal. But it seems the goal against them put more energy on the team and they scored two goals  in the last six minutes before half time.

Dampuia scored the equaliser from Sawmfela's assist in 39 minutes, but the next was for Sawmfela. Former Aizawl FC striker Sawmfela header put Chhinga Venga infront following Dampuia's corner kick.

Chhinga Veng continue to dominate the game in the second half as R. Malsawmtluanga headed-in Malsawmfela's long ball on the 68 minutes.

In the 90+3' minutes Malsawmfela scored his second goal by a header following R. Malsawmtluanga's freekick then the game went off.

Chhinga Veng leads the table with three points and goal difference of 3. They will face Chanmari West FC on September 8 while Mizoram Police FC will face Bethlehem Vengthlang FC on September 7.

In the first match of the season Ramhlun North FC drew 1-1 with Aizawl FC. Lalliansanga and Jonathan Lalrawngbawla were the goalscorers. In the second match of the day Betlehem Vengthlang beat Chanmari West FC 2-1. Lalrammawia, Vanlathanga and H. Lianzama got in amongst the goals.

Elsewhere. champions Chanmari FC edged out Dinthar FC 0-1 with Jakob Vanlalhlimpuia scoring the only goal of the game.

Chanmari coach Vanlalthanga used all of his first choice players from the first match and this shows that they try to defend their title.

Jacob Vanlalhlimpuia scored the only goal in 65 minutes from defender Rosanga's long ball, he headed down the ball on the ground and fires it.

The losing team Dinthar FC started their two foreigners Clarence Carter and Jackson Victor Ogheneochuku in this game but the former champions never play out as expected.

Both team made few chances in the first half. Chanmari captain Rochhingpuia almost scored the first goal from the freekick while Lalnunsanga also missed his chance.

Dinthar forward Jackson also made some chances but Chanmari goalkeeper Muanawma did everything to protect him from scoring.

Both team made changes in the second part of the game, but this was for the good of Chanmarians. They put in Mabiaa to boost their attacks and means alot.

Dinthar's substitution in the half time didn't have much impacts on the game, forward Jackson Victor was awarded red card after Lalfakzuala hit the Chanmari's crossbar.

Chanmari defender Jacob Vanlalhlimpuia also left the ground after receiving red card by dangerous tackle. The match ended and Chanmari starts the new season with three points.

The defending champion will face Ramhlun North FC on September 7, while Dinthar FC will face the recently I-League champions Aizawl FC on September 8.
