Mark Zothanpuia scored the winner for Chanmari FC.

Two MPL debutants kicked off round 3 of the Mizoram Premier League as they battled each other to a goalless draw on Thursday.

A relatively quiet first half at AR Lammual saw both teams struggle to create clear-cut chances as they were able to cancel each other at both ends.

The in-form team Electric Veng FC had the better of the few chances in the game with David Lalnuanawma coming close to giving his side the lead.

Chanwpui FC struggled in the final third as Vanrammawia Ngente proved to be the only bright spark in their frontline.

The second half saw a more open affair with Electric Veng FC controlling proceedings. David Lalchhuanawma and Vanlalremruata could not capitalise on their chances as EFC looked more likely to take the lead on a couple of occasions.

Chawnpui FC also improved after the break but they were still lacking end product as the experienced Vanlalthanga tried time and again to unlock EFC from the flanks.

Chawnpui FC will now face Bethlehem Vengthlang FC in round 4 next Tuesday with Electric Veng FC facing Chanmari FC in the evening on the same day.
