MPL League leaders held by Ramhlun North FC as I-League winners sail to Semi Finals

Ramhlun North FC gave themselves hopes of reaching the semi-finals after holding league leaders Chhinga Veng FC to a 1-1 draw with Aizawl FC who cruise to the knockout stages having beaten Dinthar FC with 4 goals to nil.
A stoppage equaliser goal from Lalliansanga ensured that Ramhlun North FC went home with a point.
An even match up saw few clear cut chances as both teams seem to cancel each other out before reaching the final third.
Ramhlun North FC had sniffs of the goal through Rosangliana and new signing John Kweku Ampong. And Vanlallawma went close at the other end for Chhinga Veng FC.
The deadlock was finally broken in the second half when a fine delivery from Laldinliana was finished off by Lalrammuanpuia.
Chhinge Veng FC could have doubled their lead later on when an effort from Hmingthanmawia struck the bar.
And they were made to rue their missed opportunity right at the end with Lalliansanga scoring an equaliser for Ramhlun North FC.
Ramhlun North FC's Liberian defender Korhena was named man of the match.

Aizawl FC nailed down their place in the semi-finals with four wins in their last four games.
And the reds of the capital were hard to handle right from the start as MPL1 champions Dinthar FC struggled to keep up with them.
David Lalrinmuana netted a beautiful freekick in the 9th minute to give his side the lead. H. Lalmuankima then doubled their lead after some magnificent work from Andrei Ionescu.
Centerback Masih Saighani scored their third in the 27th minute from a corner delivered by David Lalrinmuana.

Aizawl FC then grabbed their fourth late on with man of the match H. Lalmuankima providing the assist for William Lalnunfela on the 80th minute.
