Salah has been to two FIFA World Cups.
Mohamed Salah was fond of pretending to be Zinedine Zidane, Francesco Totti, or Ronaldo when playing football with his brother. The Egyptian superstar will now stand alongside the greats of the game he once sought to emulate in the annals of history. Thanks to those early aspirations that paved the path for his explosive ascent.
When Mohamed Salah was a youngster and a member of the Al Mokawloon youth team, he would attend school from 7 to 9 a.m. before leaving for football practice. Mohamed Salah would not be able to return home until at least 10 p.m. The trip there would take over four hours and require up to five buses.
On his twentieth birthday, Mohamed Salah relocated to Basel. There, he won two Swiss championships with the national powerhouses and made waves in the UEFA Champions League.
He moved to the Italian side after a disastrous move to Chelsea, where he made an impression with Fiorentina before permanently joining AS Roma. There, he went on to contribute 55 goals in 83 appearances for the Giallorossi.
When Liverpool called in 2017, the captivating winger immediately won Anfield over.
With 67 goals, Salah is Egypt’s second-highest scorer, only surpassed by current national coach Hossam Hassan. On the list of all-time appearances, he ranks eighth.
