Four Moroccan players are at risk of missing the semi-final.
Morocco face France in an exciting FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final clash at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on July 9. The North African side will face a tough test against a Les Bleus side that have been flawless in the expanded 48-team tournament, and Mohamed Ouahbi will field a strong starting lineup for tonight’s match.
However, the head coach will need to be mindful of his squad selection as four key players are in danger of missing out on the semi-final if they receive another yellow card in the match against France.
In the World Cup, players are handed an automatic one-match suspension if they accumulate two yellow cards. There are two amnesty periods in the tournament, with the counter being reset at the end of the group stage and quarter-finals.
However, four Moroccan players will miss the semi-final if they get booked against Les Bleus. On the other hand, if they manage to avoid a card in tonight’s match, they will be cleared to play in the semi-finals and final, should the Maghrebis progress to those stages.
