Former Mumbai City FC midfielder Mohamed Larbi signs for French third division club

The Tunisian international played all of the 18 league stage matches for the Islanders in the 2019-20 season.
Tunisia international midfielder Mohamed Larbi has left Mumbai City FC and joined SO Cholet, a club that that plays in the Championnat National - the third tier of French football. SO Cholet made the signing of Mohamed Larbi official on Monday, via a public announcement on their website.
"As a part of his wish to return to France and pursue new challenges, Mohamed Larbi has joined SO Cholet," the club's announcement read. "Under the head coach Stephane Rossi, Larbi will add a dash of experience to the club's relatively young team."
The 32-year-old attacking midfielder joined Mumbai City FC at the start of the 2019-20 season, and played in all of their 18 matches in the league stage. He also netted two goals and registered four assists, and maintained a passing accuracy of over 65% as the Islanders finished at fifth place with 26 points (seven wins, five draws, six defeats).
Before joining Mumbai City FC, he played for clubs such as GFC Ajaccio and FC Sochaux-Montbeliard. Overall, Mohamed Larbi has made over 151 appearances and recorded over 20 goals and 15 assists. The former Mumbai City FC midfielder was also part of Tunisia's initial list of 29 players pre-selected for the 2018 World Cup,
Meanwhile, Mumbai City FC have been incredibly active in the transfer market ever since the conclusion of the 2019-20 Indian Super League campaign. Khel Now had exclusively revealed about former FC Goa boss Sergio Lobera in advanced talks to take over as the next head coach of the club.
