PSG beat FC Nantes 4-0 to lift the Super Cup trophy. The Brazilian superstar was seen handing out the winner's medals to his teammates after the game ended.
Paris Saint-Germain went into the game as clear favourites. New head coach Christophe Galtier put out his strongest playing eleven. The Superstar filled front three were on fire as Lionel Messi scored the opening goal of the game, and Neymar scored right at the scruff of halftime to hand PSG a 2-goal lead going into halftime. Sergio Ramos scored the third goal in the 57th minute, Neymar scored a penalty in the 82nd minute to hand PSG the 4-0 win.
The 4-0 victory saw PSG record their ninth Super Cup title in the past 10 years. This was also Christopher Galtier's first competitive game as the PSG manager. Galtier succeeded Mauricio Pochettino as the new head coach at the start of this summer.
During the medal distribution ceremony, Neymar took it upon himself to present his team with the winner's medal. The PSG stars including 7-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi joined in the fun, cheerfully accepting the medal from the Brazilian star.
