Neymar plays in poker tournament days after Brazil’s FIFA World Cup 2026 exit

Neymar came under the spotlight once again after being pictured taking part in a poker tournament in the United States days after Brazil’s elimination from the expanded 48-team FIFA World Cup 2026 in North America.
The Santos forward was injured for the start of the Selecao’s campaign, making two substitute appearances against Scotland and Norway.
The latter, which came in the Round of 16, resulted in the forward scoring a late consolation penalty. However, he could not prevent the five-time champions from losing 2-1 and crashing out of the tournament.
Soon after, the veteran forward announced his retirement from international football. He ended his international career as the Canarinho’s all-time top scorer, netting 80 goals in 130 appearances.

Neymar’s Poker appearance
The former Barcelona man took part in the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em 6ix-Max event of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. The tournament confirmed his participation on Saturday. The event features a maximum of six players per table in a standard Texas Hold’em format.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian Serie A restarts on Thursday, with Santos set to take on Botafogo later that day. It is unclear if the veteran forward will take part in that match, with his club reportedly giving him some extra days off to recuperate.
