The Sheffield-born attacker made history by becoming the oldest recipient of the award, overtaking Chelsea icon Didier Drogba.

The 33-year-old finished one goal ahead of Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Southampton striker Danny Ings, both on 22. Vardy also became the seventh English player to have won or shared the Golden Boot.

It was a season to remember for the Englishman, who was at his prolific best despite his age. Many felt that Vardy was past his prime in that season. But the striker proved his goalscoring exploits that season and created history.
However, this may pale in comparison to the 2015-16 season, when he guided Leicester City to the league title, a historic achievement for both the club and the individual.
Jamie Vardy, along with Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante, played an important role in leading his team from the attacking compartment. He was the squad’s most visible player as they won the title.
