Before heading to Türkiye, the Indian U20 women’s team underwent extensive training at The Sports School in Bengaluru to fine-tune their skills. The squad, announced by head coach Joakim Alexandersson, comprises 23 players who will be looking to gain valuable match experience ahead of the bigger tournaments later this year.

India’s first opponent, Jordan, has been a familiar competitor at the youth level. Historically, India has enjoyed an edge, having defeated Jordan twice in the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship Qualifiers, while Jordan claimed one victory. The West Asian side recently lifted the WAFF Women’s Youth Championship title in December 2024, displaying their strong form by defeating Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Palestine, and drawing with Lebanon. India will need to be at their best to start their campaign with a win.

Following the opener against Jordan, India will face Hong Kong on February 22 before concluding the tournament against Russia on February 25.
