Oscar Bruzon’s Red and Gold Brigade, coming off back-to-back dominant wins, started brightly and took the lead just before halftime. Edmund Lalrindika [40'] continued his fine form, finding the back of the net to send the home crowd into a frenzy at the break.

However, Owen Coyle's Jamshedpur FC refused to back down in the second half. They found their equalizer in the 61st minute when the towering defender Stephen Eze [61'] powered home a crucial goal to silence the stadium. The match looked destined for a hard-fought draw until the closing stages, when Japanese midfield maestro Rei Tachikawa [87'] stepped up to deliver the decisive blow, scoring a dramatic 87th-minute winner.

The newly branded visitors stunned the home crowd in just the 4th minute. Augustine Lalrochana [4'] scored Sporting Club Delhi's first-ever ISL goal, finishing off a slick counter-attack with a grounded shot past Prabhsukhan Singh Gill.

However, East Bengal's response was instantaneous and ruthless. Just three minutes later, Edmund Lalrindika [7'] pounced on a loose clearance to unleash a thunderous volley from outside the box, restoring parity. The momentum shifted entirely when Edmund was brought down inside the penalty area shortly after. Youssef Ezzejjari [11'] stepped up and calmly converted from the spot to give the hosts the lead.

Before halftime, the brilliant Miguel Figueira threaded a perfect through ball to Ezzejjari [40'], who slotted it through the goalkeeper's legs for his second of the night. Sporting Delhi fought hard in the second half but lacked the final product. In stoppage time, Miguel Figueira [90+4'] capped off a brilliant individual performance, curling a spectacular left-footed strike from distance to seal the 4-1 rout.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 66th minute when Bipin Singh floated a delightful cross for new signing Youssef Ezzejjari [66'], who buried a perfect header into the net. Just six minutes later, Ezzejjari [72'] doubled the lead, slotting home his second of the night after brilliant build-up play involving Bipin and Edmund Lalrindika.

In stoppage time, the Brazilian magician Miguel Ferreira [90+2'] put the icing on the cake, finding the far corner with a tight finish after being set up by substitute PV Vishnu, securing East Bengal's first opening league match win in the ISL era.
