Born in Maribor, Rene Mihelic joined Chennaiyin FC for the 2017-18 Hero ISL season. He scored two goals and had four assists in 14 matches in a title-winning campaign for Chennaiyin. The Slovenian's ability to cause havoc from dead-ball situations made him a vital cog in the side. A lot to offer from dead ball situations and from open play, Delhi Dynamos will be hoping that his midfield creativity will help them going forward, an area where they struggled at the start of 2017-18.
