Many big names have not been called up to the squad.
Cole Palmer is left out of Thomas Tuchel’s 25-man roster for this month’s Nations League matches against Spain and Croatia, but Jobe Bellingham has joined his brother Jude in the England team for the first time.
Palmer’s absence comes after Tuchel had warned that he “misses too many camps” following his withdrawal from the previous games due to a minor muscle issue.
Despite having only 14 caps, the Chelsea midfielder has scored five goals in 11 games this season, including a penalty in the team’s 2-0 victory against Manchester United last weekend.
In the past two years, he has only made three appearances for England; his most recent one was during the country’s home loss to Japan in March.

5. Adam Wharton
Adam Wharton, a midfielder for Crystal Palace, was not included in Thomas Tuchel’s England national football team’s tournament roster. Tuchel has been under constant criticism for leaving out prominent and promising midfield players in favour of choices in the depth chart.
A new generation of central midfielders has been embraced by Tuchel. Wharton is no longer included in the current selection plans due to the advancement of players like Elliot Anderson, Myles Lewis-Skelly, James Garner, and the recently called-up Jobe Bellingham.
4. Bukayo Saka
Bukayo Saka’s exclusion isn’t surprising, as the forward is currently nursing an injury and will be out for an extended period of time. The forward was called up to last month’s Nations League matches, but this time he will be missing England games due to injury.
3. Kobbie Mainoo

After recovering from an injury, the Manchester United midfielder played in a European match this past week. However, the England coaching staff chose to restrict Mainoo’s workload and give priority to his long-term recovery after he was forced to withdraw from the previous international camp owing to physical problems.
To keep Kobbie Mainoo fully fit, he was dropped from Thomas Tuchel’s 25-man England team for the November UEFA Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain.
2. Phil Foden
The German tactician has kept the Manchester City playmaker out of the international squad; he hasn’t played for the Three Lions since March 2026. Foden was once again dropped from this year’s last international camp after being left out for the 2026 World Cup team in the summer.
Foden recently disclosed that he hasn’t spoken to Thomas Tuchel directly since the World Cup about what he needs to do to regain his spot.
1. Cole Palmer

Palmer’s withdrawal follows Tuchel’s warning that he “misses too many camps” after pulling out of the previous games due to a minor muscular problem.
The Chelsea midfielder has bagged five goals in 11 games this campaign despite only having 14 caps, including a penalty in the team’s 2-0 victory against Manchester United last weekend. He has only played for England three times in the last two years, most recently during the nation’s March home defeat to Japan.
Why is Palmer left out of the Three Lions squad?
Tuchel has not revealed any detailed reason yet.
Who will England face in the Nations League?
Croatia and Spain.
