Managers free to watch TV replays during matches
The tacticians can show the footage to staff, substitutes but using it against an official or displaying it to on-field players will result in a sending-off.
From 10th of August 2018, managers in the Premier League will be allowed to use their mobiles during a match in the dug-out for better analysis of a match. Prior to this change in the rule, electronic communication was only allowed if it related to welfare or safety.
The 20 gaffers of the league will be allowed to re-watch controversial incidents or keep a detailed eye on things to assist them for tactical changes and substitutes. The footage will be processed through a team of analysts at the stadium.
As reported by The Times, Bosses are also not allowed to confront officials with videos. Anyone attempting to do so could be shown a red card.
This still would not be allowed in any circumstance.
Turkey boss Fatih Terim in 2016 received a warning from a fourth official after he played smart in passing him a mobile phone which was showing a replay of England striker Harry Kane scoring from an offside position.
The Football Association's wording of this new law reads: 'The use of any form of electronic communication by team officials is permitted where it directly relates to player welfare or safety or for tactical/coaching reasons but only small, mobile, handheld equipment (eg microphone, headphone, earphone, earpiece, mobile phone/smartphone, smartwatch, tablet, laptop) may be used.
