Alan Shearer feels Manchester City have a lot to play despite Champions League exit
The Cityzens have been behind their team throughout the season especially during UCL games.
Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspurs played out an exceptional Champions League quarterfinal match, with Spurs having the last laugh over their Premier League rivals.
But Pep Guardiola's men will have their shot at redemption when they again host the Lillywhites at the Etihad in the Premier League. The Cityzens have a lot to play for despite bowing out of the quarterfinals in the Champions League yet again.
Former Newcastle United forward and Premier League legend, Alan Shearer expressed his fascination over the Champions League clash like the rest of the football fraternity. While he feels that the Premier League clash between the two sides won't be any different.
He said BBC Sport: "I have a gut feeling City will beat Spurs on Saturday, but everything about the game is going to feel very different."
"There was a sensational atmosphere at the Etihad on Wednesday night. Guardiola asked for the fans to show him they cared about the Champions League, and they certainly did that."
"It will just not be possible for their supporters to create the same sort of intensity inside the stadium on a Saturday lunchtime, but the City fans still have a big part to play."
Shearer feels that the City players must come out with the same intensity as they don't have time feel sorry about themselves.
City gave everything, but they have no time to feel sorry for themselves because there is still so much to play for.
"They have still got six games left this season, and if they win them all, finishing against Watford at Wembley, they will win the Premier League and FA Cup and complete a domestic treble."
"That would be an unbelievable achievement and I am sure Guardiola's message to his players will be along those lines. One trophy has gone but there are still two more to go - let's go for the hat-trick."

This epic clash can even pan out to be the Premier League decider this season. Pep Guardiola's men cannot afford to put their guard down at this stage of the season, as they chase Liverpool, who are sitting at the top of the tree for now.

Liverpool, on the other hand, will face relegation-threatened Cardiff City away from home. It should be an easy ride for the Reds with Jurgen Klopp's men high on confidence. But all eyes will be on the Spurs Manchester City fixture.
