Transfer Gossip: Andre Gomes to Tottenham Hotspur?
The former Valencia could be a crucial addition to Mauricio Pochettino's squad.
More good news is about to come out for Tottenham Hotspur fans as Spanish outlet Sport is reporting that the chairman of the club Daniel Levy has agreed on terms with Barcelona for Andre Gomes on the club's behalf. The fee is rumoured to be around £25.9m.
The meeting for the player on loan with Everton was held and now the Blaugrana are waiting for an official bid from the UEFA Champions League finalists. The Portuguese has impressed everyone during his loan stay at Everton after a dismal season with FC Barcelona.
While Everton is keen on making the loan deal permanent, the North London club would be a more attractive destination for the Blaugrana midfielder given the opportunity to play Champions League football again.
Not many fans have been delighted to read the rumours but the club chairman and manager Mauricio Pochettino have been highly impressed with the Portuguese midfielder. The former Espanyol coach has given the nod for the deal to be finalised.

Tottenham was found short of quality and experienced midfielders during the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the Champions League where they were forced to play Dele Alli at a deeper position than what he likes to play.
Andre Gomes would be a quality addition to the midfield of Spurs that have lost Moussa Dembele this season and is struggling with the fitness issues of Harry Winks, Victor Wanyama, Eric Dier and Moussa Sissoko.

Mauricio Pochettino had made it clear to the board that he would need reinforcements if the club wishes to keep him for yet another season at the club with rumours of him joining Juventus circulating more than ever.
Since then the club has been rumoured to be after some quality players in Ryan Sessegnon, Andre Gomes and others. Pochettino also wants the assurance that the players to be signed would be good enough to help them repeat the feat that they have achieved this season by finishing in the top four of the Premier League and playing the showdown event of Champions League.
