The gaffer insisted that his team has an undying resolve and the fans need to stick with them.

Brendan Rodgers, who is in his first full season at Leicester City FC after taking over earlier this year before the end of the last campaign, has called for the fans to stick by his band of players till the final whistle. This comes on the backdrop of a thrilling 2-1 win against Everton in their last Premier League fixture. The Foxes secured a late dramatic victory thanks to Kelechi Iheanacho’s winner deep into injury time. The goal was adjudged offside by the linesman but VAR later overturned the decision, thus erupting the stadium in euphoria and players celebrating in unison. However, it could have been noticed that many of the fans had already made their way out of the stadium before the final whistle. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Noticing that and speaking in context of the game, Rodgers said, “I want them (fans) to stay. I know there can be a bit of a traffic queue getting out of here, but, as long as they know this team is going to go right to the very end. At 1-1 they should never doubt that this team is finished.” “The players have the stamina and mentality to go to the very end, we will push to the very end. Do not leave at 1-1. The players have a mentality that every single game – home or away – we can win. They believe we can do that,” he further added. Leicester City have been a revitalised outfit since the 46-year-old tactician took over. He insists that it’s a philosophical change in the attitude of the players he intends to cultivate. “The reason I came here was I felt my staff and I could hopefully make a difference. We had a clear vision of how we wanted to play and the standards we set, and from that you just go into a process,” said Brendan Rodgers. “I think my message is – ‘supporters, don’t leave early’. Look at the intensity and fitness in the team. They’re breaking forward in that last period. That’s a process and the players have been first class,” the former Liverpool manager further added. The team has displayed brilliant attacking football and have impressed several neutral followers of the league worldwide. With seven consecutive victories in all competitions, Leicester are strong favourites to triumph against their next opponents in Watford, who have recently sacked their manager, Quique Sanchez Flores. The fans at the King Power Stadium will certainly back the team till the final whistle after the manager’s call.
