Ramhlun North FC earn much needed three points as Chhinga Veng FC open up 8 point lead
Ramhlun North FC win their home fixture against Bethlehem Vengthlang as Chhinga Veng FC defeat Chanmari FC away.
League leaders Chhinga Veng FC began phase 2 of MPL6 with a brilliant comeback victory against current champions Chanmari FC to open up an 8 point lead over their title rivals.
Chanmari FC had looked to close the gap on CVFC's lead in the table with an early goal but a late resurgence from the I-Day and Super Cup champions resulted in a 2-1 victory.
Joe Zoherliana gave Chanmari FC the lead as early as the 12th minute when he headed in a corner from Thasiama.
They could've doubled the lead in the first half as Lawmzuala missed a good chance while Jacob failed to get the better of Chhinga Veng FC's goalkeeper Zothanmawia in a one-on-one situation.
CVFC's skipper Lalrinchhana also had to make a last ditch clearance just in front of their goal line to deny Muanzova.
Malsawmfela and Laldampuia had efforts saved by Chanmari FC's goalkeeper Muanawma but the first half clearly belonged to the champions.
It was a different story however in the second half as the introduction of attacker Lalkhawpuimawia shook things up for CVFC's attack.
And the move paid dividends when Khawpuimawia played an important part in MS Dawngliana's equaliser on the 64th minute and again provided the cross for Dawngtea's second goal 12 minutes later.
Chanmari FC tried to salvage a point late on but the league leaders held firm to their one-goal cushion till the final whistle.
Two-goal hero MS Dawngliana was named man of the match.
